Artstamp by Lars Schwander

„Lars Schwander (* 1957) is one of the most central figures in Danish photography through 30 years. He has worked at Brandts Museum, The Royal Library, the City of Culture, Louisiana MoMA, Bruun-Rasmussen Auctioneers, and has organized exhibitions both in Denmark and abroad (…). Lars Schwander is of the belief that there is a straight line from the earliest to the most recent portraits. All photographed soberly and without imaginations. His pictures are taken with a minimum of staging. However Lars Schwander’s photographs often have this sensibility of dreams and longing. He has a special ability to capture this particular romantic world. For in his optics, an image is not just an image, a portrait not just a portrait: the photograph is a projection of the photographer’s own notions of life and sense of beauty. It is thus a very intimate world that opens in Lars Schwander’s work. (…)“

What lays bare in me, 2017

edition of 7

edited by Collectors Agenda, Vienna

In this unique seven-part edition What lays bare in me, created exclusively for Collectors Agenda, Madeleine Boschan suggests that architecture is much more than the fundamental human need to create a roof over one’s head. In a serious appreciation of architecture therefore, it must be perceived as inherently utopian; Madeleine Boschan’s most recent work configured in this edition represents a subtle study of this inherent prerequisite.
Every sculpture emits its own, very particular attraction. Each individual angulation informs of its unique character and is further confirmed by its coloration.

modern sculpture

Galería Casado Santapau, Madrid
January 19 – March 4, 2017

In the late 1950s and the 1960s, abstract sculptors began to experiment with a wide array of new materials and different approaches to creating their works. Surrealist imagery, a minimalistic vocabulary, combinations of modern material and unusual surfaces became characteristic for the new modernist sculpture. Until today the subject of modernist sculpture is a central concern for many artists. The art works in the exhibition mix the formal language of modernist sculpture with a strong consciousness of the presence: modern sculpture.

Curated by Friederike Nymphius and Gerold Miller.

Berlin-based sculptor Madeleine Boschan created this beautiful silkscreen print Antae (brimstone / light blue) exclusively for Artflash. Citing the Greek antae temple that consists of two spaces, the pronaos and the naos, this work is a beautiful testament to minimal art, color, and space!
